Default G-22 vs Precedent

Hey, Guys...

1st post, but I have the feeling I'll be around for a while

I have an '80 G1 2 stroke , that has seen better days, and I'm getting tired of working on it. We use it a lot. The wife takes the kids to/from the bus stop everyday, and the boys beat the snot out of it Several hours per week, racing around a field. It runs real strong (until it gets hot) and it's fast ( even w/the govenor) , but it looks like crap and is frustrating to keep working.

I'd like to get y'all opinion on G-22's vs CC Precedents (or anything else) . I can find plain '05's (off golf courses) of either for around $2750, locally . I guess I could also get a g16, but there dont seem to be many around, locally.

I plan on a lift/tires, installing a tach, a hitch and tighten the govenor. Although it doesn't need to FLY, I'd like to get ~20-25mph. I think the Precedents have a 9 hp engine, while the g22 has an 11.4.

I'm also a little uneasy about the Precedents aluminim frame, but I have a friend that has one and it's held up pretty well.

So, any advise / thoughts on the best used cart for my application?

thanks,
gator

Both good carts. I just like the Yamaha better.

Welcome to the forum gatorgitter..........

No need to worry about the aluminum frame on a club car............. They have been that way for years and they dont rust out & collapse in the middle either.

Thanks for the comments, guys... keep them coming.... y'all may get a kick out of what my Club Car guy said...

" I do not sell ez-go or yamaha. they are a lower end cart and you could find one of those a little cheaper but you get what you pay for. "

Y'all dont agree w/that statement, do you ? ( here, in the Yamaha forum, I would guess Not) . If my 27yr old G1 battle wagon is anything to go by, he's full of bull....

As far as the CC aluminum frame, I'm mostly worried about popping welds that I can't easily repair.

thanks again!
gator.
