Default G8-A won't start just pops.

This is my 1st thread. I've got a G8-A that ran fine then went to use it and it sputers and just don't go. I toke the fuel line off at the pump and gas comes out when turned over. I took out the spark plug it looked a little fouled. I checked for spark, it was there but looked weak.I haven't gotten a new plug yet this just happened last night. Are there any other things I might look at if the plug isn't the problem. Thanks

Yamaha , "pigtailed" a small 18 gauge wire to the negative battery cable that bolts to the starter/generator end plate, I would first try "cutting" back the electrical tape, cut off the small wire, put an eye end on it and attatching it to the bolt were the negative battery cable is attatched. Your ignition is based on "open/closed" ground and if the ground is bad...bad spark and almost like "out of time". I know you may think it's stupid......I always try the easy stuff first. Good luck Dave

Thanks for the info It wasn't that wire but I traced the ground though to the ignitor harness and there was a broken wire. I spliced it back together and It run perfect.
Thanks again you saved me alot of time and probably alot of money trying different things.
