G22 Exhaust Noise Problem
My exhaust got very noisy and a clatter was evident when the engine was pulling. I was told that the baffle in the muffler had broke. I replaced the muffler and loud exhaust noise and clatter still is there. What else could causing this?

Re: G22 Exhaust Noise Problem
First welcome to the forum. It could be several things. It could be a problem in the primary clutch. It also could be something internal. That is a pretty hard one t nail down without hearing the noise.

Re: G22 Exhaust Noise Problem
Thanks for the welcome. A strange thing happened this morning. I noticed that one of the bolts that holds the cap on that covers the primary sliding sheave was very loose. I tightened it down and firmed up the other and the loud exhaust noise and clatter disappeared.
What the heck is that all about?? JimB |
