Default What cable

I found the cause of the back fire issue on the cart, the plate was staying open. The cable that goes from the pedal to the carb is about 1/4" to short. The cable measures 32".
What cable are y'all using and what source did y'all get it from? I have a lift on my cart and I think that is the issue. I called about four local golf cart shops today and got the lecture from all of them on how I should not by pass the go governor (ya ya ya), but no one could come up with the cable. I then went to local lawn mower shops and pretty much got told if don't say husqy or Deere on it we don't got it (spit). I try to find cable making material so I could make my own but the was fruitless.

Thanks for the help.

K why kinda/ year Yamaha you have...the cable should go from your pedal to the gov...then another cable goes from gov to carb...and I've never had to change one out because of a lift because they are both adjustable...

I bypassed the gov. My cable goes straight from the pedal to the carb as this is what all the cool kids are doing, wink wink.

I called two of the site sponsors with both referring me to local shops. And also if I can get a part number or other I info that may help with telling them what I want.

Thanks for looking. I have learned a lot about my cart lately. I do want to find the cone filter for the carb if you can help with that.

On the Yamahas',I bypass the governor by making a tab that both cables hook to,instead of hooking thru the governor.I use a piece of heavy-guage tin(just under 1/8",but 1/8" will work)drill 2 holes about 7/8" apart, and connect the 2 cables from the governor to the plate. Then check your throttle for travel, and also butterfly-closure,adj. as necessary.Works great, done a few of them this way now.Hope this helps.
