Hi Everyone,
Just joined & happy to find the forum. Got a couple questions after picking up
a 1994 G9 cart. Was wondering if those CD manuals are any good? I had a G1 cart awhile back and if I remember correctly the manual was real pricey? My other question concerns the correct carb settings for throttle and idle? Some say the throttle is 1 1/2 turns out some say 2 1/2 turns? On the idle I've seen anywhere from fully close the butterfly to open a little? Anybody with some insight to offer would be appreciated.
Thanks
JP

whiteriver

I sent you a pm concerning the manuals.

You should be able to find the info with the manuals but I'm sure one of the guys that memorizes all this stuff will be along to give you an answer.

You're not the first and I'm sure you won't be the last.

You should see an email a little later.

Good luck with the cart, they're sure fun to play with and they can get addictive.

Idle mix is 1.5 turn, but whatever it runs right at I usually went quarter turn out more. I set carts up like G1s, I set them to idle slow just faster than the starter. Set the throttle to start and idle, then go faster with more pedal. Others set 4 strokes differently but this way I've never had an issue with backfiring or starting, and nobody can go slow and kill the battery on the starter. Some say close the idle all the way, or they had to due to popping when going down hills. But some newer carbs you cant richen the idle mix either, and that is major issue with popping on deceleration. I had to drill the plug off the idle screw on my new clone. Of course if you mess with the exhaust or airbox on any cart or clone engine the carb must be jetted.
