Default Mp3 kit goes out

I just installed of these (
Amazon.com: Pyle PLMRKT2A 2-Channel Waterproof MP3/iPod Amplified 6.5-Inch Marine Speaker System: Car Electronics Amazon.com: Pyle PLMRKT2A 2-Channel Waterproof MP3/iPod Amplified 6.5-Inch Marine Speaker System: Car Electronics
) into my 2007 yamaha drive.

Problem is that it will only play for about 3 minutes and then go out. No sound at all. Next day, same problem. It will play longer if the cart is not in motion, but once I go to play golf, it will only last a couple minutes.

Any ideas?

Are you using a voltage convertor?

No. It's a gas cart, and the amp is connected directly to the only battery in the cart. Didn't think I'd need a converter.

No, you dont need one. I didn't realize where I was at. I'd check the voltage on the battery when it dies and go from there. Although, it doesn't sound like a cart problem....more of an amp problem.

Might be over heating? Are the speakers hooked up plus to plus and negative to negative???

Sounding like the amp is overheating to me as well, most amps have a thermal protection shutdown built in. You only have the 2 speakers hooked to it?
