G2 wont start backfiring through carb
Just rebuilt the motor in my yamaha g2 piston, rings, crank, pushrods.
It originally started and ran. However It would only run with the choke out to get going...every time. A couple of times it stalled and took forever with monkeying around with the choke to get it going. I bought a new air box and cleaned the carb and now it won't start. It has lots of spark and compression and is getting lots of gas. It turns over and seems like its flooding and if I pull the choke out it coughs and spits gas out the front of the carb and backfires (through carb) Any ideas on where to start or what to do to get this thing going? Could the timing be off? Maybe valve problem (I did set them properly per specs) |

Re: G2 wont start backfiring through carb
i think might you have timed cam off 1 tooth. also, check to see if a pushrod (exhaust side) may have fallen out of rocker due to sticky exh. valve.
