Default G1 Mystery machine

Hey everybody i bought a g1 couple weeks back. Ran great then the spark gave out. Looked to get it rewired but then found a trigger coil from some random motor( probably a snowmobile) same in size and shape. Plugged it in have awesome spark nice and orange. Now it cranks but floods fast i can see the gas come out the exhaust if i do it long enough. Fuel line disconnected and staring fulid still nothing. All the motor seems to do is bump like its going to fire but does not. Tired moving the stator plate nothing. New plug, adjusted reeds. Any help will be awesome!

Ive been told blue is good will still ingite the gas but orange is the best. I know what you mean i normaly see blue on almost every spark plug, but i did check my ezgo and that too had an orange spark. That thing runs like a raped ape. I mean the spark is good either way. If you hold the boot or the wire you will feel a jolt. I also put my hand over the spark plug hole while grounding out the plug and its still fires orange.

If you have fuel running out the exhaust then the bottom end of the engine would be full of fuel as well. There would be no chance of the proper mixture getting to the chamber so the engine could run.

the other thing is once i tried the new coil i also tired starting fluid but the engine i guess knocks(more like a jolt) a couple times but wont fully start. you think thats because of the gas filling up the bottom end. i remember now when i told my brother to cover the rat rod . i went to start the engine i heard bumps or knocks kinda like it. that was my push rods giving out cause the motor was full of water. now to flush the bottom end??? would i have to crack the cases. ill just look around the motor or drill and tap a plug.

Pinch off the fuel line,
Pull the plug and spin it over.
Be very careful as you will be shooting gas into the air.
Remember the spark plug or wire can start a fire.

Yea ive been meaning to do that it helps if you blow compressed air ( nozzle attachment) to really get it up and out. Tomorrow I'll try it.

I don't want to muddy the water here concerning spark color but, I had about 40 yrs. experience with ignition systems in antique outboard motors and never trusted an orange or white spark. When ever we installed new coils we saw a bright blue spark. If we saw orange or white we figured the coils were operating at less than optimum and the life expectancy would be fairly short depending on use. About 80% of the time we were right. Sure not an expert on golf cart ignition systems just throwing it out there. I'm getting an orange to white spark in my G9 and have some problems that may be in the coil/igniter based on what I've been advised on this forum. (See G9 Starts & Stops thread)

I always used a spark tester, they used to be $5 at autozone. If you jump say 3/8" gap depending, it is usually good.
