The wife's G22
When I picked this up I was going to use the rear end to fix my input shaft "problem" in the red cart, but this was too nice to tear apart. I found 20 pencils under the cup holder--from 4 different courses---3 in Md, and one in NJ. Other than all the dirt and grass, it is in very good condition--nothing bent or broke. It seems to have been maintained fairly well. The primary was send off to Plowman's today--one roller had a flat spot, and I'll replace the ramp shoes and get a new secondary, too. The engine runs well and will stay stock, at least for now.
The plan for now is to just get it back together--she hasn't decided if it will be lifted or not. If she wants to cross the creek, it will probably have to be lifted. Then, I can start to work on the red cart. |

oh yeah nothing like a little tlc..no telling how old all those gras trimmings were.. my 09 g29 was packed with grass around the battery..good luck post up some progress pics of the build

Davie, aren't those 22's neat!!?? Man, I'd lift it in a second!! That one I did was neater-n-neat!! Rode like,,, well,,, like a,,, car!! Not like a "Spot"!! Big tires will make you want it more than your 16! And long travel,,, well, " Off the Scale"!!
And your 16 is not a hard fix!! Cleaned up well! And Block, do the double cogged belts make them more "water proof"!!?? I'm close to needing a new belt soon! Gees! less than 4 yrs!! Tires are shot tho... 3 leak air and no tread left Spot is officially a used up piece of SH!T!!!! I know,,, I'm in trouble now!! |

What a difference a good cleaning can make. Thank you very much for posting these pictures. I have recently bought a G22 in parts and these pictures are very helpful to see how things should look when all together. The exploded parts diagrams online only help so much. If it isn't a ton of trouble, could you take more photos of the steering assembly, and breather hose/fuel line areas? I have some parts on the way and I think I will start a build thread when I start piecing it back together. Thanks!

Yeah, I liked the way it drove right off the bat Been looking at wheel and tire combos, and figure the 6" lift is the way to go. And no LT lift for this one--the 16 would get one first For as many golf courses as this appears to have been used on, it seems to have been well maintained throughout the years. I've found nothing bent, broken or re-engineered, and very minimal surface rust.

A 6 inch lift and some 23's would look great. Will the lift on your 16 fit a 22? You can put your lift on it and LT yours. You could play it off by saying it would be cheaper to do that then get a lift for hers and then down the road get a LT for your 16. Plus she's already use to the ride height of the 16. Jus sayin...

No can do---the 22 has a different front end-with rack and pinion steering-and uses a spindle lift. I just want to get this together and then I can rip into the input shaft in the 16.
