Default g9 questions first buggy

i have a 91 g9 i just got and it was runnung fine and and i thought it was out of gas so i put gas in it and its real hard to start and dosent run as well as it did is there a place to adjust the timing i took the carb apart and cleaned it last week

also its puffing black smoke somtimes too

it seems as if its not burning all the fuel that the carb is letting in
i eliminated the governer and the first few days it ran awesome but ever since it ran out of gas it dosent run right

do the vlaves need adjusted ?what are they sposed to be set at ?

and i set the carb screw at 1and a half out is this ok ?

I would clean the carb again, and replace filters. Valves should be at .004 TDC cold.

Newguy is right - likely sucked a piece of stuff into the carb when you ran out of gas - jet could be plugged.

Maybe a little crud in the inlet needle and carb is overfilling making it run rich. Good Luck.
