Default Accelerator Stop Switch

hey guys just wanted to confirm what i think i know... with the accelerator stop switch at rest the black ground wire and black/white wire should have no continuity, right? does that means its bad? is there a way to bypass this switch at all? this switch seems pretty pricey. i have been toying with accelerator pedal (to get more throw) cuz i did a head swap and i forgot to adjust that one nut so that it doesn't rest on that switch and i think its bad now... what do you guys think?

If you bypass the switch then the cart will start turning the generator just as soon as you turn the key on.. At least that's what happened on my g29. The stop switch on mine the little small steel ball came out of the track. I had to drill the hole larger and used a Bb from a bb rifle and works like a champ now. Those switches are around 50$ on ebay.

yeah they are kinda pricey... trying to avoid that purchase or else the wife might be off with my head with this rebuild. what wires did you cross and did you mind its automatic start up? i already had the blk/white wire disconnected so it stayed idling

Where the accelerator stop switch there is a disconnect on my cart when you disconnect the switch the generator will start turning just as soon as you turn the key. You have to press the pedal to actually fire the engine and go. I have my radio on the key switch so it isn't an option for me to have the radio on and the starter continuously running while sitting still listening to music while working in the yard. Last night my stop switch started acting up again so looks like my temp fix was only temperary. Looks like ill be buying the 43$ switch on ebay soon. Ill take the switch apart and see what happened but no telling how many thousands of times that switch has cycled on and off for the past 5 years. What it's doing now is absolutely nothing when you press the pedal. I can press the pedal in and out sometime between 10 to 30 times before it starts turning the generator. Ill now for sure if its the switch at fault if I go and disconnect it and the starter starts turning. Will report back soon as to my findings.

Got the stop switch from ebay installed and cart now back to normal. It's not the oem yamaha switch but looks and functions identically.

I've got the same start/stop switch problem and am curious how you guys got a wrench on those big nuts to remove the switch. Not much clearance or room to move a tool around in there?
Thanks
JP

On my g29 there are two Phillip head bolts.. I had to take a screwdriver bit that you use in a cordless drill and a 8mm open end wrench to turn it..
