G1 question
New owner of a Yamaha and I am trying to nail down the year of this beast. Everything that I have read says that the serial number is On the left side of the rectangular pipe by rear bumper. The cart that I have the number is located under the seat on a tube cross memeber. The number on the cross member is J10-004657 which would put it in the 1979 year, correct? But on the 3salesandservice.com website the location would be a model for years 1986 to present. Help please.

Re: G1 question
A bunch of these old carts have parts that have been swapped around over the years. The 1982 engine is the odd ball. In general the parts from the pre and post '82 G1s should cross over. That might be why that website shows your J10 as needing parts from a 1986 G1. You have a J10 motor. Take a look at these two stickies.
