Default Cart walking

okay, so I got this cart a couple weeks ago. it is a 2009 "The Drive". Has a jakes 6" lift and 12" tires. Problem I have is when it hits a bump on asphalt, it begins to walk all over the road. I have talked with other golf cart owners in the area and got conflicting information so i bring to the experts!

1. The steering box needs to be replaced.

2. "The Drive" came stock with an almost "power steering" feel and the larger tires are emphasizing this feeling.

This scares my wife enough she barely likes to ride on it and refuses to drive it.

I had a very similar issue when I brought my cart home,

during my rebuild..... I re-aligned the front end, (including toe in) still did it,,,had our local shop look and adjust steering box, (if possible)... still did it, New shocks, new HD springs,,, still jumped.. Crazy thing one day I was looking in another thread and someone pointed out the members tire treads were backwards.. Guess what,? mine were too,

Swapped the tires and no more jumping..I never thought that tread direction could cause any problems much less the jumping I had... I hope yours is as simple a fix as that..

I agree on the toe in adjustment. I have found "zero" works the best. Nice looking car, Good luck

I too vote for toe. Or a loose component. Wheel lugs tight?

If my cart is toe in it is very sensitive and scary at high speed. Toe out it is half asleep and wanders around. I have zero or a tiny bit of toe out so I can go 30 down a road and it stays going straight.

I've got the same year cart, same lift, same tires, and same wheels. My cart does above 25 top speed. I do not have any problems with my cart wandering. Only difference in my cart and yours is the color and you have rear seat kit. The feeling your having I had the same problem on my 2012 Polaris sportsman atv. I know we're not comparing apples to apples but from the factory the Polaris has a severe camber problem where the front tires lean outwards on the bottom. The fix for the wandering on the Polaris was to add a spacer under the shock spring to stiffen the shock to take away the camber problem. Also the tires were toed out a bit. After a few adjustments and testing finally got the toe dead straight and the atv rides straight as an arrow. So I would adjust your toe as best you can straight and give it a ride.

Btw can you take a frontal pic so we can see if your problem is the toe or not. His tires are bi directional.
