Just Ordered a Yamaha YDR Gas
Hi everyone
Ive just ordered a YDR gas 2 seater. I was going to go for the 4 seats but i ended up opting out because i realized the you can never play a 4 ball on a 4 seater. will just drive you mad in my opinion. I hope i have made the right choice over electric. I was just told that as a personal user it just makes more sense because electrics only last for a certaion ammount of time before you have to change batteries and you have to make sure its charged all the time. The idea of putting petrol and going just sounded better to me. im not going for any extras right now as my budget does not allow me. only going for the cooler box. would have liked the lights for looks only but i think it nots worth it. was reading a few posts about govenors is it possible to decrease the govenor on my model, to malke ity a bit faster?? is it worth it as far as warrantee goes etc. also have i made the right choice or must i change now and go for the electric as it is the same price. im getting a bit of last minute jitters. I have paid the dealer and we expect delivery end of september. |

Re: Just Ordered a Yamaha YDR Gas
Congrats!! I think you made the right choice. Have the dealer crank up the gov so you don't screw up the warranty.

I would take it easy with it for a while to break the engine in. See what your buddy says and let us know.

Re: Just Ordered a Yamaha YDR Gas
hi regarding the raised suspension kits. Will this void thevwarrantee if not is this something I couldbuy myself and do. In a kit form. There are guys in south Africa doing it but I was thinking that it could be cheaper buying it in the states and paying for the transport across. Is there somewhere I could locate this.
One more thing does anyone know the exact diffrence between the drive and the drive Ptv the yamaha site was a bit vague on this they. Called me today and said do k want the ptv its eq1000 dollars extra. Is this worth it? I just couldn't find the exact diffrence. |

Re: Just Ordered a Yamaha YDR Gas
hi everyone took delivery of my car yesterday. Very happy with everything.
Just a few questions. I found it to be a little loud ok take off. Is this normal. Once it gets up to speed the noise is better. Also another thing when needing to drive slowly ie reversing off the trailer etc it seems the starter is running continually. And thevengine is not firing up. When the engine fires up it goes too fast. Would it be better to have your foot on the brake at the same time. Thus having the engine fully started but braking it so it is slower. I just think that the starter is wearing out. Also regarding servicing. The manual says ever 2 years is this fine?? Thought it was quite a long time. Also is there something that I should keep a watch on regarding maintenance?what must I service more regulary. Are these engines that hardy that its just about putting gas and throttle and off you go. |
