Default Need advice on G2 valuation, PLEASE!

I looked at a 1991 G2 today. It's all there, no body damage, very dirty from sitting. Battery tray is gone and tube frame under tray area is rusted through. Engine spins freely, has good compression (with the thumb test). Rest of frame and swing arm look average, some rust. Rear end/trans looks good, spins both directions. It looks all stock and unmolested. No battery so couldn't try to run it, but it's been sitting for 2-3 years. Owner said it ran when parked (of course). With a clean carb, gas tank, fuel pump and a battery...I think this thing will run. I was thinking for parts. $400? does that sound fair? I will part it out, but I will use the rear end and swing arm. Or should I walk away from this one?

Any 4-stroke rear end in good condition is worth $350.

If you want me to go away, I will, but...
If the G2 rear will fit the G1, absolutely. Get the motor running and sell it.

I'd like to find one in that price range, I'd jump all over it, then Big Block it.

Nooooo.....don't go away! LOL

Yeah, lots of valuable stuff. Engine, Wiring harness, starter gen, top, seats. Figure I could poss sell the rest and recoup my costs. Gonna need that rear end huh?

Actually, I think the whole swingarm might fit in there, might even bolt right in, not sure. It sure looks like the same type of swing arm. If not, no biggie. Might build one and drop it 4-6" and move it back 4".

I think the swing arm from the G2 is a bit shorter than the G1. But, the G2 rear end will work on the G1 swing arm, just have to drill some holes for mounting as the hole pattern is different.

Ok now this is good news! Is that the rear end you used on your Jeep? What did you use for your secondary? Stock? Also, when you did the clone, did you have any trouble with the stock clone carb, or did you use a different one?
