looking at a 2006 Yammy Gas

Our ATV just died and we have an old 91 beat up electric EZGO. We had thought about getting a gas cart to replace the ATV and EZGO. We like the EZGO because the kids can drive it without getting in too much trouble and 4 of us can ride on it. Most of the places we drive are around the edges of fields etc so we don't really need an ATV.

Is the 2006 Yammy gas a good cart? are there specific years/models to steer clear of? Any specific things I should look at when I go look at it? The price seems to be fair for our area. Most decent gas carts around here start at about $3k for non lifted ones.

I hunt as well so the camo paint is an added bonus.

Do the large tires kill the torque on the gas carts like it does on the electric carts?

I'm going to try and buy a 2007 gas on Sunday. It's for sale at my camp. It looks very nice it's a four seater with top. I looked at it last weekend. I like the lay out of it. They say that they got it brand new. Talk to them if it runs nice I will buy it. I talk them down to $2300.00 this time of year up here in Mass is a great time to buy before the snow comes.

folks golf here 12 months a year. I think it slows down a little Dec-Feb but I don't really notice the prices dropping. The guy listing the one I mentioned is moving so I'm sure that cash talks. I expect I can get it for $3k, I might start at $2800.

Camps close around Oct. I would start at $2800 pull cash out in hand when you taking to him. I would check oil and air f. The cart looks nice please let us know how you make out.

The cart would replace my wife's ATV. Most of our riding is around fields, the edge of the woods etc.
How does a gas cart equate to an ATV if you were to occasionally seek out mud holes?
I don't enjoy it a whole lot but my wife loves to hit the mud sometimes. I'm not talking about fording streams or anything, just running through minor mud holes and splashing some water everywhere. We don't do it often but occasionally we go out riding down some forest roads and hit a few mud holes now and then. Would that cause a problem?

I love smashing mud puddles in mine, are you looking at a G22 or YDRA "Drive"? 2006 would be G22, but both were available in 2007. I would prefer a late G22 over an early "drive", they had all the bugs worked out (there wernt many to begin with). The G22 was one of yamahas best, but both are good carts. both have comparable suspension, almost identical, but i think the ride quality was a little better on the G22 (not as stiff). Both have lift kits and that kind of stuff available. Both have identical motors, except the muffler is different ("drive" mufflers are known to break). Yes, bigger tires and wheels will negatively affect torque, but changing the spring in the rear clutch to a U-max utility cart spring will help that some.

No one answered your question about mud - Yes, lifted golf carts can do mud, just like ATV's. There are lots of video's out there, especially of guys driving through streams. Its a blast!! Just don't get so deep that you suck up water into the muffler.

I picked up on Sat. What a nice ride. It's been sitting for a long time. The person I got it from said there didn't use it much. They got the camp from the aunt. She got the golf cart new from dealer. The guys at camp said the aunt did not use it much. The tires look brand new not a mark on it. Just needs a good cleaning.i drained the gas put new in. It had no power with old gas. The guys were mad becuse they were waiting for the last week of camp to buy it. It told them they had it on Craig's list. Got it for $2300. Hope you got yours.
