Default Disable Governor on a G1(G3)

My new top end is broke in and I am ready to get rid of the Governor. I want to keep everything as stock possible. I see posts on drilling out the slot on the arm that goes from the Governor shaft to the throttle cable. This would leave every thing stock which I like. Any one done this? Results and recommendations please. Thanks

It works great long as the arm can't come up off the shaft. I put a spring on to help return and hold it down, like a car carb spring. They usually need a return spring as the governor does this to a point. Just hook over the arm and down under it that will keep it from moving up, and in a direction that pulls the throttle off, does not need be that strong.

G1 like to rev long as the muffler is not plugged. Sometimes when the secondary bottoms out they get this hum to them, its funny, like overdrive.
