Default 2013 g29 3" lift and 22" tires installed!

This is a 3" jakes lift kit with 22" sahara classic tires and 12" wheels. Tires with 10psi installed under the weight of the cart measure right at 21" tall.

Was going to start disassembling the front while i had a few minutes of free time this afternoon. Once i started i just had to keep going. Took me 2.5 hours start to finish including trimming the rear rockers and setting the alignment on the front.

The front is very easy to do since there is nothing in the way while swapping out each spindle. The rear is a different story. I didnt wanna remove the entire rear body but would have been so much easier if i would have. I did remove the seat, rear access panel and the bag well tray jn order to access the upper shock bolts. Getting to the upper bolts takes some reaching and alot of cursing. These shock bolts are tight as heck. Once you get these loose and install the rear goalpost bracket its all down hill from there.

These pics are crappy since it was 1045 pm dark but i will get better pics tomorrow in the sunlight.

Before

After

Before trimming the rear rockers

After trimming, used a box cutter with new blade

I did discover while removing the front componants that there were absolutely no cotter pins on the hubs, tie rod end, king pin, and the steering brackets. All the nuts were quality marked with a black marker but no pins. Also my driver side king pin bolt was corroded. It was turning a white powdery color with some very slight rust starting to occur. I had to wet sand the corrosion down with some very fine grit sand paper and applied a light coating of grease and reinstalled. Will stop by napa tomorrow and grab a few pins for safety.

Yes its night and day difference in the ride quality. More tire to absorb more bumpe, the wider stance makes it alot more stable when making sharp turns at higher speeds. Not tippy at all, feels very planted. I really dont understand why jakes dont advertise the 3" lift as being capable of use with 22" tires or for that matter 23" tires would still have plenty of clearance. Even when you install the 6" jakes lift on these carts they tell you to trim the rockers just the same as i did with the 3" lift. But for all the members on the fence about getting a lift and bigger tires the 3" -22" combo is ghe way to go for better usability, stability, ease of getting in and out of the cart, rear seat footrest isnt 20 feet in the air, and good ride quality.

Ill get some better pics up later today after work.

I like just goin 3"! Lower center gravity. I'm on the side of a mountain quite often! Nobody mentioned a three inch lift when I did mine!

I'll be watchin!!

Already been in contact with don at plowmans earlier this week about performance mods. His air box mod and jet kit will work but he is in the process of testing different springs for the secondary, helix and some machining to the clutch surface. Maybe in the next month or two he will have a kit ready for the 2012.5 and newer carts with the new style better clutches. He says the primary on these newer carts is sufficient and shouldnt need any mods like the previous 2007-2011 needed.
