G16 ignition coil issue
We have a G 16 Yamaha. The G16 only has the coil and no igniter. The original coil went bad, it would run sporadically. Spark would come and go after the engine was warm. We replaced the coil with a aftermarket unit and it ran for about a hour run time and then no spark at all. Replaced the coil again with another aftermarket unit and it did the same thing after about a hour of run time. The coil the flywheel gap was set correctly and not dragging. Is there anything else in the system that could be killing the coils or are the aftermarket units not good?.
