Default Suspension... shocks

Hey fellas, i just scored a sweet deal on some new tires on ebay, Kendal 20x7x8 all four shipped for only $129. So i figured since i'm getting this great deal I might as well buy a 4" lift kit.

I've been looking at the 4" lift kit and noticed that it uses spacers for the shocks, well i'm thinking that it'd just be better if I replaced the shocks with some new ones that are longer and would have more travel..

I have no idea what length or what kind of shocks would work best, its being used for mild off roading and just around the neighborhood.

Would anyone be able to recommend some shocks that I could use?

And would this be a good idea?

I don't know the length, but a lot of guys use 400ex front-shocks on the front, and Suzuki Eiger rears.I'm gonna try the Eigers on my Ez-Go,since it needs a lot more rear suspension.

Those polaris podium's are nice.. but i cant justify spending more on the shocks than the whole cart is worth! LOL

Pachanga, thank you for the recommendations. I found a few used ones on ebay that i added to my watch list!

I agree with 400EX on the fronts. I have those on both of my carts. Just be sure what ever you get is stiff on the rear. If you have soft shocks back there, it causes instability big time and is dangerous at higher speeds. If you have a rear seat or plan on putting one on, don't put aftermarket shocks back there. Use the Jakes heavy duty springs only on the stock Yamaha shocks.... I found this out the hard way.

what do you guys think about these?
my only concern is that if they are too short or too long, then my camber will be off....

For the fronts? You didn't mention on what cart this is for.

The 400EX shocks are also 16" eye to eye, but you'll still have to bring down your A-arms. Just sticking those on will not work.

90 yamaha G2

i'll be installing a 4" lift on it and i thought it would be a good time to upgrade to better shocks... and instead of installing the shock extenders, i was thinking of putting in longer shocks.... mild off roading, riding off of sidewalks on occasion...
i'd like the shocks to not be too stiff...

i measured the front stock shocks and they seem to be close to 10" and the rears are close to 12"

OK, so those front shocks at 16" will be about 2 inches too long for a 4" block lift to fit properly. A six inch block lift would put everything level.
