Default K&N Air Filter

I was Just Wondering What Type of K&N Air Filter I would Need to Put on My Yamaha G8....I know Gary Has one on His and I wanted to so the same thing. Also What would be the performance advantages? are they noticeable? what would the price be as well....thanks guys just let me know

I think you would want to get carburetor jets also, with just the intake it may run lean and rough.

If you go with the cone type K&N filter, you will have to jet the carb. You can drill out your stock jet if you prefer: .046 if I remember correctly.

Jet size would be .046 - .048 and the K&N p/n is R1050 or R1080.

thanks guys I am deff going to look into it....how much do you think the cone style filter would be? or how much would the whole setup cost?

The filter I used was straight shape and I believe it was around $40.

Check here for jets if you don't want to drill yours.

Aren't those jets for a 301cc, Ron? The G8 is a 285, right? You're probably right 'cause I don't know jack about Yamahas.

To be safe, I would just talk to Tom @ CPP. I'm sure he has the right jet
for the G8.
