Default How Do I Make A G-16 Idle? Please help!!!

I have a 1999 G-16. I would love to make it idle. I have looked for the black wire with the white stripe on the rear passenger fender and the drivers rear fender. There isn't one on either. I hear about flipping a switch under the gas pedal but I am sure where it is or exactly how. I know a lot of yahamas are similar but could the g-16 be different in making it idle?I really need help with this one guys. Thanks alot for looking and any input is greatly appreciated.

I for one don't understand why some want there car to idle, but here goes. The white/black wire concept is for Yamaha G1's. Forget about that. Now, First!!!!! you will need to find a drive belt that will be "loose" enough to allow you to make your car idle (I'd say 3/16th of an inch or so),if you don't have belt slippage as soon as you started the car (even at idle) the car would want to move. Now I have not tried this but in theory....If you took the "brown" wire (from the wire harness side) at your "stop switch" (the micro switch at the accelerator pedal) and connected it to the "red/white" wire (on the wire harness side) it would give "12 volt power" to "energize" the solenoid when you turned on the ignition switch and make it turn over, then with some "throttle stop/accelerator cable adjustments", it should idle. Make any sence? Good luck. Dave

When you replace the stock belt with one that will slip and let the cart idle, you are going to loose some speed and a lot of torque. The best route to go, if you want a cart that will idle, is big block it.
