Default power spring

i have a early g-9 i put a jakes power spring on it new clutch and belt and it lost power cant climb a bump and got real loud what did i do wrong

Are you sure it's the right belt? How easy/hard was it to put on? Is it loud like revs too high? or loud like the muffler is off?

sounds like the muffler and it vibrated alot i put the belt and clutch on first no govner ran great then the spring ran like road kill

Hmm...Maybe you forgot the shaft spacer while installing the spring? The spring should make no difference in the loudness other than the RPM's will be higher.

i put the spacer than the cup,spring and the other half ,i took it off because it was so loud i left the spacer it runs good that way but its not right

Did you remember to re-install the woodruff key? I imagine it could get pretty loud back there with no power if you forgot that.

mine did the same thing when i took it apart the woodruff key had came up and the sheave spun on it and thats why it was making the noise. you have to be very careful when putting everthing together to make sure the woodruff key stays properly seated
