Smile 1989 Yamaha G2 carb adjustments

Hi .everyone! Just got into the cart world and have a question about my carb. Have done some of the basic tune-up things, ( plug, air filter/box, gov. "adjustment", ect), but still getting that rich smell while driving down the road (not overpowering, just stinks) Could a carb screw adjustment help resolve my problem. Any help would be great! Have fun carting around!

check for an exhaust leak. Some have added an extention to the little tail pipe to get it out the back more.
Might also check the gas tank, cap, vent, fuel lines for cracks where you might be smelling fumes mixed with exhaust. Mitch

Theres only two adjustments on the carb. throttle stop screw and pilot adjustment screw. Take the pilot adjustment screw and spring out and make shure it has a very "sharp" point, if it has a "flat" spot ,its damaged and replace it. Screw it back in till "Lightly seated" then turn out 1 1/2 turns. Thats the stock setting. Hope it helps Dave

cable could be binding when you close the seat frame
cable could be dry and need a good shot of WD40
cable could be fine but choke shaft on carb dragging.

Usually the cable is dry. Need to take it off and hang it vertical so you can gravity feed WD down the inner cable all the way through
Spray, let it sit, work it up and down, spray, let it sit, work it up and down, keep doing it until you don't see any rust running out.
