who's using a double A-arm lift & rate it.
I'min the market for a lift kit for my G16. I know first hand about the camber problems with all the A arm lifts, so I'm moving towards purchasing a Jakes or all sports 7 inch lift that is camber adjustable. but I want to hear from you guys any reasons why you wouldn't recommend them. Thanks again

I went with the single a arm from jakes wheels are aligned perfict as long as you don't have a sloppy front end. sales lady at jakes said the major difference in a single & a dlb is the strength if you are going to do major off roading or jump it go dlb. it is also higher so becareful at hi speeds

My carts get driven hard, all off road! So strength is good. All my friends run single A arm and none of them have ever had a problem. I het a great deal on 24" at489's , thats the other reason id like to have the extra 1 inch of lift.

Re: who's using a double A-arm lift & rate it.
Off road handling, steering accuracy, and overall ride quality is vastly superior with the double a arm suspensions. For an off the shelf kit, the Jake's LT is a great setup. I do not have one, but if they made one for my cart I would have one. I researched for months on this. The only complaints I have heard from Jake's LT owners is that the shocks aren't the best, and the directions could be better. With that said, everyone I communicated with said they loved the Jake's LT.
The All Sports LT uses an upper "L Arm" instead of an "A Arm". This design may not be as strong, although I've never heard of anyone breaking one. The Yamaha version seems to be the only one with "A Arms". This kit looks to be very slick. I have heard that the All Sports Shocks are better. |

Thanks slo, but long travel is out of the question for me. My pockets just arent deep enough. The main reason I'm leaning towards the All sports is price, $334 vs. $399 for the jakes. Come to think of it, I've never had the pleasure of owning a jakes.

Re: who's using a double A-arm lift & rate it.
i had spoke to my friends the owners of jakes and they now make their own shocks for the lt setup , they are a major improvement , personally i was satisfied with the single a arm jakes , the are really destruction proof , but for a g 16 why not contact mike and get a pachanga lift , that rear anti sway kit he has really works i rode his wifes cart and was amazed at the ride quality improvement over other carts ive ridden

I looked into mikes lifts, but unfortunately he doesnt offer one that will clear my 24x11-12s. If I didnt already have my CC, I would invest in the jakes LT.

Just to update, I went with Jake's 7" double A-arm lift. Ran into a manufacturing problem. More to come.

Re: who's using a double A-arm lift & rate it.
Here's a couple pics of where I'm at so far. Main reasons I went with this lift 1) wanted something that would clear up to 25" tires, 2) Availability. Knew I could get it quick since Jake's is only 1 state away 3) Didnt want a lift that had the typical camber issues associated with the single A-arm lifts 4) Never owned a Jake's, thought I'd treat myself.
More to follow..... |

What was the manufacturing issue?
