Default does the G9 ignitor have a governer?

I had an issue a couple of weeks ago with loosing spark on my g9, we found out it was the ignitor and it fixed the problem.

but after the install the cart is definitely not as fast and I lost some torque. I got it from golf cart king. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem buying aftermarket ignitors and not having the same power?

clutches are working normally with new belts

Not sure but it should not change how it runs if it is factory spec. The ignitor is there because it runs 0 degree timing to start and then ramps up to like 30 degree advance by 2500 rpm. If not doing that it will run differently of course. Unfortunately they are pricey. I kept mine and want to fit it to my clone engine for the advance curve, that is about the only way to get it.

Is likely you can check it with a timing light just chalk the top of the clutch at TDC and see if it moves over when you rev it off idle. 2500 is around the rpm it gets when you floor it and it starts moving, then it goes up to about 3800 and stays there until shifted all the way out (if you don't have a governor). They will hit about 5000 WOT at top speed.

thanks sho, I don't have a timing light, but im pretty sure that the new ignitor isn't doing what its supposed to. when the cart would go up a hill and have a lot of load on the motor it used to slow down then you herd the motor torque up and it would power up the rest of the hill. now it doesn't. im thinking the timing isn't changing like its supposed to
