torsion adjuster under air box 89' G2
Hey guys, whats happenin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alright, I got a few hours to tear into my yammy without the wife and kids bothering me...............removed my air box, found my torsion adjuster. QUESTION; How much slack should be in the actual adjuster cable? Mine had A LOT! So I went ahead and tightened that sucker up along with the lock screw. Havent driven it yet, wanted to check with you guys so I didnt tear out of my shop and break my cable(quite sure they are cheap to replace but why chance it............ Anyway, How much slack, if any? Hope to hear back soon. its 3:25pm here in Heber springs, AR. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always adjusted mine where there was hardly any slack at all. Actually on my newest G9, I removed the front motor mounts and replaced them with a stationary piece of aluminum and bolted it directly to the frame.

I think the book calls for 1/8" gap. When I had my stock engine I snugged it up tight too.

Re: torsion adjuster under air box 89' G2
Whats up guys! 1/8 inch you say Ron? Well i got mine tighter than a coon dogs rear openin' day of coon season! What about that? Pretty tight I say!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!! All silliness aside, (not much though...hee hee!) What are the chances of this thing breaking on me, or is ther just not enough power in a stock engine to do that? Mine had some surface rust on it(20 yrs. worth) but no broken wire or anything. Aughta last me a while, huh? Thanks guys.
