Default 2011 Gas Yamaha issue

My 2011 gas Yamaha golf cart will run fine, but when I stop for a minute to talk to someone, i press the pedal to go and nothing! After sitting for a minute, I press the pedal and it will run again. Your thoughts please. I hear starter brushes, battery, relay, stop switch, etc.

First thing would be to make sure your battery is healthy (charged, watered, and load tested). Make sure the battery is being properly charged by the cart's charging system. The next thing would be to make sure all high current starter connections are clean and tight. (This includes the battery terminals). I think most of the time when our carts stop, the engine rolls through and comes to rest on the compression stroke. When you go to restart, the starter requires a healthy battery to give a good shot of current to initially roll the engine through compression. A weak battery or poor connections or both will cause problems at this time. Let us know what you find. - RAY

I suspect a battery issue as well, after that it will be a throttle cable adjustment.
