Default cleaning carb, and putting on a cone air flter?

I was thinking abou ctaking the carb off, and cleaning it really good. Then I thought about just getting a cone air filter, and putting directly on the carb. Has anyone done the cone filter, and not jetted the carb? Will it work alright? I found some cheap cone filters on ebay for 5 bucks with free shipping. What size opening do I need to attach directly to the carb on the g2? These say 38-40mm. I was also thinking about cleaning the fuel pump, but wasn't sure if I would see much gain by cleaning it. Any help would be great.

Pretty sure if you put a cone filter on you will have to rejet.

Most likely have to drill jet according to what elevation you run at. The filter will get dirty much faster if you run off road, and won't filter as well as the stock filter element. Also you will have to listen to a fair amount of increased motor noise.

I put a k&n on mine without re-jetting, for about 4 minutes. It was undrivable.

I put a unipod on mine, ended up with a 130 jet, if they would have had a 135 in stock I would have taken that. Only problem I'm running into with it is when I go through water, the filter ends up getting soaked, so I'll probably end up building a snorkel of some sort. The cart didn't have anything on it when I got it.

ok. If I jet the carb and go with a cone filter will I notice a power increase? I'm planning on an engine upgrade next year, but would like a bit more power for this winter......Also is here a rear end that will bolt right in to the g2 that has a locker on it? I hate the 1 wheel spinning......lol
