Re: g-16 fuelpump
Quarter inch fuel line fits, but I don't know that I would do that. The vacuum pump that is on there is the best thing going!! Just make whats on there work.

Re: g-16 fuelpump
i put a brand new yamaha pump on & all new lines & my fuel filter is empty all the time it runs but not strong if i pressureize the fuel tank a little & get the filter full it runs good for a minute. i bought a low psi pump 1-2 psi max & im going to wire it to only run when the petal is deprssed

Re: g-16 fuelpump
Sounds like the gas cap is not venting, causing vaccum to build in the tank. This eventually prevents fuel flow. A electric pump will be hindered by the same problem if the cap is bad. Try driving with the cap loose.

Re: g-16 fuelpump
i tried the loose cap trick with no luck. i also removed the fuel line to the carb & the pump spurts fuel out on every crank revolution??? found a good fuel pump made in usa for $36 worth a try

Re: g-16 fuelpump
What exactly is it doing for you to want to change out the pump? Does it not get any fuel?

Re: g-16 fuelpump
when i get fuel in the filter it runs great but most of the time it is empty & just running on vapors & doesnt have full power then. it doesnt like up hill runs at all. feels like its running lean.we have drove it about40-45miles in the past month mostly at full speed & only burned 2/3 of a tank

Re: g-16 fuelpump
The plastic elbow at the top of the fuel tank is probably cracked (where fuel line connects). Sucking air. I have seen lots of those over the years.

Re: g-16 fuelpump
not sure when you are looking at the filter,, when my g16 is off the filter is almost empty, i think it drains back, when its running it fills.. also, did you ever take the hose lose that goes from the carb to the engine, just buy the oil fill cap.. this is the vacuum that runs the pump,, take it off at the carb and blow into the engine,,, if you feel it let loose, then it was plunged.
