Replacing the ignitor/ CDI
I'm not looking to spend the stupid amount of $250. on an ignitor. I have a 400ex CDI that I know is good. I hear about guys using the Chrysler ignition and others. Has anyone ever used one from a 400ex.

Re: Replacing the ignitor/ CDI
Check the sticky threads above, some have used the china scooter cdi on the cheap.

Re: Replacing the ignitor/ CDI
Could be; people have used a lot of different things for ignition. Pretty sure the G9 is a hall effect pickup though, so it may need a certain box such as Chryco since they liked to use hall effect also. It has no stator.
I have two ignitors, but I want to put one on my clone as it has a more favorable timing curve. I'd have to make a ring for the flywheel to pick up on. Yet another project I don't have time for. |
