Default Electric drag cart Idea

I want to build a electric drag car, but don't have the cash to dump into it. This is an idea I thought of. Do you guys think it would work? If not what would be the problems with it.

that would work but when you throw it to 72 you might weld the contacts together

just be sure to put in a BIG cut off switch

You might have to get rid of the F/R switch & go with Contactors for your F/R... If you are just going to drag race than bypass the controller all toghter at the line. Just use the controller to stage with.

No its not rated for 72v. But I won't be running 72v, I'll be running 48v, Hence why I am asking........
I read as much of GB's stuff as possible, and when he talks (writes), I listen.

Those solenoids are built with silver oxide contacts... they are rated at 400a continuous and 1000a peak. I have not seen one fail in the year we have been using them.
