Default Best battery

Looking to upgrade a 2000 Club Car 48 volt system. I plan to use the car mainly for street use. Would like to increase speed to maybe 30 - 35 mph.
I will be upgrading the controller to 500 amps.
What are the best batteries available. Iam looking at the US batteries and the Trojans.

Thanks

Welcome, Bailey! Can't go wrong with Trojans.....6 T-875's. US has good batts, too. I just haven't tried them.

For long range use. Trojans Hands down. US batteries are coming on strong though. I can get close to 30 miles on my set in the monster cart. I have 9-8volts. I just couldn't see the price differance when I bought them.

Question Re: Best battery

Andy,
Do you know anything about agm vs lead acid? Pros and cons.. I heard that some of the racers use them because better for high amp applications? Also that they charge quicker? Do they discharge faster?

I have a 36 that needs batteries and a controller, so I'm going 48. Looking for the best battery for my application..

Any advice is.appreciated

Actually, the cart is for the kids, I'm just in charge of making it look purdy..

I have been hearing that the Trojan batteries are having some problems now that the company is trying to cut costs. Does anyone know if this is true

I wouldn't go AGM yet for the regular cart. You want long run times if the kids are going to be riding it. The AGM's we use in the dragster are good for 3 1/8 mile runs and have to be charged. They only weight 21 pounds though so they are built to discharge completely and recharge faster than a lead acid battery.
I would buy the trojans if money isn't a issue. If money is tight go with the US battery 8 volts. They are good batteries.
