WTB Resistor Cart Motor/Parts
Hi,
I am in the market for a motor or parts for a 70s EZGO 36 V resistor motor as used in the three wheel Marathon. Mine has a broken field lead (see Electric EZGO forum: "Resistor Motor Help".) Possibilities would include: complete stock motor Motor with bad armature/good field field windings I also welcome any repair suggestions, as I am not sure how to best repair this aluminum winding connection. thanks, JAy |

Re: WTB Resistor Cart Motor/Parts
no idea what a 70's motor looks like
but I have an early 80's ez-go long shaft motor the kind with a keyed shaft with a gear on the end of a 3/4'' dia long shaft fits the newer/early parallel style rear used about mid 80's and just picked up a older 90 degree rear end [like a rwd car] with a 10 spindled motor that has a ez-go textron rebuilt sticker on it serial #11435 I am in zip 33189 south fla both look to be copper 4 field poles the long shaft is made by GE and other then the endshaft the other motor looks the same like it is a GE also but short shaft with 10 spindled end |

Re: WTB Resistor Cart Motor/Parts
I'll take pics and measurements. The long shaft doesn't sound promising, but the other just might fit.

If you are saying that it would work and you are wanting to sell it, could you give me a price? We can take this PM if you like.

Re: WTB Resistor Cart Motor/Parts
I don't need the motor so scrap value is about $50 for the copper in it
plus real cost to ship it to you, your pick on shipping is you motor a GE |

Re: WTB Resistor Cart Motor/Parts
US mail flat rate box ?
will they take it in a 11x8.5x5.5 as the motor is 6.5x8.5 so is a 1/2'' bulge on both sides OK with the snailmen ? (_) they are the cheapest at 17.50 for 50lbs but jump up to 40 if not in ''their box'' |

Re: WTB Resistor Cart Motor/Parts
Yes Sir it is a GE. A little carb cleaner and a lot of rubbing and I could read it. Measured the major ID of the spline and it is .749". Ought to fit, right?
