FOR SALE: 1971 Harley Model D

This is a custom built 1971 AMF Harley Davidson Model D 3 wheel golf cart. As you can see, this is the model with the steering wheel, not the tiller!

The good: Custom CC top that hinges with the body, upgraded CC steering wheel, fully functional head and tail lights, windshield, Ohio State Buckeyes paint scheme (),
good tires, baby moon hubcaps, custom rear seat and tailboard. Working electric fuel gauge. COMPRESSION TESTS AT 93 PSI!!
and I rebuilt the carburetor and sealed up the entire intake system with OEM Harley gaskets.
Complete tune up done very recently, all new fuel lines and a new filter, new drive belt and S/G belt, good battery.

The slightly ugly: minor cosmetic damage in a few spots, the paint job is from a several year old restoration by someone.
Rear body has a spot that has been fixed where it was cracked, the front fender has one very small crack at the corner. Very easily fixable.

This cart runs and drives very well, but like almost ALL older Harleys, suffers from needing the choke pulled out ever so slightly when taking off.
The more you drive it, the less prevalent this becomes, it just needs driven!!!
This would make an excellent campground or neighborhood cruiser, you won't see another one like it,
these older models are getting rarer, especially the ones with the steering wheels which were less common anyhow.
I am asking $1800 for this cart locally, but if it is sold to a BGW member I'll take $1600.
The cart is located near Parkersburg, WV (about 20 minutes East on Rt. 47) and I'll deliver locally (within an hour) free!

Sorry for the big pics, but they'll help you see what good shape this thing is in given the age!
The USA1 plate stays with me, it belongs to my Dad, but the plate frame which is CNC cut stainless goes with the cart.

I really love how the CC roof is integrated into that cart. It's one of a kind, there's certainly not another one like it! You've got a great price on it, good luck with the sale.

Monday night bump!

Have it advertised locally and sitting down by the main road in a neighbor's yard during the day since the weather is looking good. Need it gone, $1600 to a member here is a pretty good deal!
