For sale: 1991 yamaha g5 sun classic electric

Great renovation / restoration project looking for a good home!

The mechanicals are all there less batteries. The front air foil which many lost while being trailered is missing along with the driver's side rear quarter trim panels.
Lastly the rubber boot and shift knob need replacing (still available). Seats need recovering but are complete.

If you already have a G5 golf cart you would be better off buying this complete cart for spare parts or to finish your project cart rather than trying to find the parts and spending more money.

I have digital copies of the maintenance and parts manuals if you buy the cart. This cart would be eligible for street legal use (35mph posted streets) in many areas.

The Yamaha Sun Classic models were designs far ahead of their time. Standard equipment included head, tail & brake lights with turn indicators, cushy adjustable bucket seats, front trunk and locking glove box, Macpherson strut front suspension, integrated top with an automotive windshield and chrome wheels with white wall tires. The design predated the popularity of the current Neighborhood Electric Vehicle.

Hmm. I wonder what it would take to convert to gas. I know on a cc ds the frame on an electric is different than a gasser. I have not looked into the difference between a Yamaha electric and gas.

Not sure about this model but the G1 gas and electric frames are completely different. You'd have to see the under hood for a better idea
