I've got a 48 volt for sale - I think they can be swapped but not sure.

Not exactly. A 36v series motor can be put in a 48v cart in some instances where a cheap speed boost is desired but, a 48v motor cannot run on 36v. Hope this helps

That’s exactly what I’m trying to do. Looking for a little power boost of the cheap.
