Robins 295 pre mci parts for sale

I've still got the original Robins 295 engine that came out of a 96' ezgo. I had tore this thing down at one point and had intentions of rebuilding but I've come to accept I'm not going to. It had a broken connecting rod when I opened up, other than that it didn't look too bad. I have the case, head, crank, cam, etc... I cant find the carb for some reason. Anyway, if anyone needs a part check with me, I may put some of these items on Ebay but I figured I would check here first. I may not have what you're looking for or in condition but if I do I'll send ya a pic and see what ya think. Thanks...

Guessing it ran low/out of oil? Not trying to hurt your sale, but looks like some scarring on the crankshaft rod journal. Also on the camshaft where it rides on the timing belt side. Do you have any pictures of the head, where the camshaft rides on the timing belt side? IF it was run low on oil and the cam seized and/or scarred the journal in the head, that head may be no good.

It probly was, inop when I got it, free turning crank but could tell the connecting arm was broke. I'll be back around the shop in a bit and I'll have a look.

Cool :) Like I said, not trying to hurt your sale or anything, there's a lot of demand for a good 295 head. But if the journal on the timing belt side where the camshaft rides is galled out, it'll never be the same and it's not going to build oil pressure like it should.

The crank is hardened steel so it could probably be polished out. Same with the camshaft. But the cam rides directly in that cubby hole in the head with no bearings so when it runs low on oil, the soft aluminum head usually will lose that fight.

You can definitely tell on the one with the oil squirter where jts smooth, vs the outside where its scored.

The other side by the timing gear, IMO doesnt look very good. That is an awful lot of scoring
