For sale Club Car FE290 & Carb

For sale. Club Car - Kawasaki FE290 engine with Carb. Engine has been sitting under the bench for a couple of years. I bought it as a spare for my cart. I'm selling some of these spare items to finance the briggs twin I plan to put in soon. Not sure of the year or rotation, but I have included the numbers on the motor. Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on it.

Side cover has been removed to inspect internals. Very clean inside. I did notice some "blueing" on the crankshaft near the journal. Not sure if it got hot at some point in it's lifetime or if they are all like that. I have included pictures of the inside and can get more pictures if anyone is interested.

Like I said, it has been sitting under a workbench for a couple of years. Selling it at (what I feel) is a reasonable price, incase it does need a little work to be cleaned up. Shipping costs will be estimated on www.ups.com from zip code 02019 (Bellingham MA). If it ends up being more than what the website calculates, I'll cover the difference. If it is less, I'll refund it. I'll get the weight and box dimensions tonight and update the posting.

What you see in the pictures is what you get. No starter / generator. I do have a FE400 drive clutch available for an additional cost. Feel free to contact me with questions. Thanks for looking.

does anyone know if i can swap an old flat head out for this? the starter/gen is fine but the clutch is all seized up so i would need that too. is it running condition? did you take the rod off and look at the crank? piston and rings wouldn't bother me but i don't want to buy a new crank and rod.

ok. Popped the rod cap off. Looks very nice. No signs of any issues. Run fingernail back and forth over journal and cannot feel anything. Very smooth.

And for the record....digital cameras dont fit well inside the crankcase of a golf cart engine.

Motor will be shipped in a box 14" x 14" x 14" . Weight of engine, protective milk crate and packing materials is 58 lbs.

It is off of another cart that was parted out. I'll throw it in for an extra $25 if you get the motor & carb.
