Looking for 400 amp controller for club car and other parts
I've got an 01/02 club car with a 36v setup. It's lifted with 22in tires. It's gutless on hills and I'm looking for some torque. It's my understanding that if I upgrade to a 400 amp controller, 4g wires, and a better solenoid? (I'm not sure what I need) that I will get more torque. I don't care about speed at this point.
What do you have??? tomgautreaux@hotmail.com |

Thats not entirely true. A solenoid wont give you anything. The controller and 4 gage cables will help. Adding an extra 12 volts will make her fly.

Re: Looking for 400 amp controller for club car and other parts
CC had some pretty tough solenoids stock ... but if I was you, I wopuld upgrade the system to 48 volts. You will see a 30%+- gain in torque and speed. It is the best little bang for the buck in my opinion.... You simply put 48v to the 36v motor and use a 400 (or more) amp controller and a 48v solenoid..... First you need to determine what throttle indicator you have on the cart. Is it a black box under the passenger floorboard connected to the gas peddle linkage?

Re: Looking for 400 amp controller for club car and other parts
I was wrong about the cart. I was told it was an '01. it's a 91 "G" serial number club cart tourall 36v electric. That's a pretty rare cart right?
Anyway, it's already got some kind of a controller. It has the stock f/r switch. Can you guys please look at the pictures and tell me what I need? Can I just add two 6v batteries? if so, where would I put them? Tom |

It's a 1991 & that controller is a curtis and should have a tag on the back side. The end not shown. that tag will tell what you have ......Post a pic or all the info on the tag....

Will do! Thanks. I guess I need to know whether I have a 0-5 or a 5-0 throttle right?

The possibilities go further than that you could have an MCOR. Black box mounted under the passenger side floor?
