i doubt it will. it is about long enough to clear the bumper plus a little. a clevis type hitch might work but there is no way you are gonna get the ball to work with a rear step.

for a rough measurement it is 4 1/2 inches from the ball hole to the mounting hole. that hole is the one that goes through the rear bumper and through the support uner it. so i think it is around 3 1/2 inches from the rear bumper when i held it up to the 84 i had in the garage. hope that helps?
