Default Transmission input shaft on electric G1

Has anyone ever taken the input shaft on a g1 electric transmission and flipped it around to stick out through the other side?there is a rubber plug I removed it and then turned down the other end with a lathe to fit in the bearing ,then I had to make a plate to cover the hole where it came out into the electric motor,it works perfect, they must use the same left side case for both electric and gas but on the electric models they put the plug in.
