Help on tachometer
I need a good tachometer , for gas carts, mowers ...etc
I saw a CC dealer which had a small black hand held tach. He got about 3" away from the spark , and told me what RPM it was running. NICE. It would be nice if it had a choice for 1,2,4,6,8 cylinders ? What do recommend ? |

if you have a iphone... Engine RPM
i use a similar audio tach for rc helicopters but its on android. works great. -sj |

If you don't have a smart phone, check your multimeter for a Frequency or Hz function. You can then use a couple of different sensors for measuring rpm. ie: reed switch w/magnet glued to flywheel or IR emitter/collector with a reflector on the flywheel, etc.
