G-14 - Lifted - FOR SALE
Hey guys, some of you may remember me asking a few questions about my 95 G-14. Well my wife bought me a Polaris RZR-S the other day so it is time to sell my gas cart (still keeping sparky though). I am in Hattiesburg, MS and am looking for $1,000. I have a friend that owns a trucking company so it could be shipped for a few hundred bucks. These pictures aren't really that good, so I will try and load some more later this week. Here are details:
6" Lift (not sure what kind, bought at a local cart store) with your choice of tires (mud grips are 22" on black wheel OR 23" all terrain and rims) Installed new steering knuckels when the lift kit was installed It has a virtually new carb from Buggies Unlimited Has almost new ignitor, coil (with spare), solinoid (with spare) and the service manual. Bought a bunch of parts trying to get it to run and turns out the ground wire had bad connection. Cart has been painted O.D. green (Krylon Fusion), lights, black canvas covered seats, and a locally made front basket and brush guard which bolts in existing holes. Now for the problems. There are some small holes where screws were attached in the rear plastic. Golf Bag holder straps are missing. The oil light was ripped through the dash and had to be hot glued into place. The oil sensor wire appears to be fraid, which happened when I sent the motor to a local shop. The cart was not running as strong as it once did. I had a shade tree mechanic come over and install a new piston, rings, wrist pin, bushing, gaskets, etc. to rebuild the motor. Well, he wasn't as good of a mechanic as he thought, because the cart still doesn't run strong (after paying $500) but it does run. So I pulled the motor again and sent it to another shop to be rebuilt. They could not remove part (J38-46210-01-00) the primary fixed sheave which means they could not split the engine block to get to the insides to make the repairs or adjustments required. Mechanic #2 was going to mic (?) the walls to see if it needed to be bored over but couldn't because he could not remove the primary sheave. Shade Tree mechanic said he honed the walls and they were fine, but I am not sure. Mechanic #2 said there was a little slack either in the bushings where the piston meets the crank, or the rings were not installed correctly. THEREFORE the engine runs, but has low compression and needs repair. Said another way, THE ENGINE NEEDS WORK. Also, the plastic shroud around the engine was removed by the shade tree mechanic and trashed. I figured it up and have like $3K in this thing and everything is operational. I was going to big block it, but since we have the RZR now and my wife may be pregnant (go to the doctor Friday ) it is time to parts ways. I think this cart would be great for someone wanting to big block it or is actually a mechanic that knows what he/she is doing with the motor. I am not a mechanic and have relayed the information as best as it has been described to me. I am asking $1,000 for basically a lifted rolling chasis with an engine that needs replacement or repair. I think you can even sell the core to J and M to offset the big block. Anyways if there are any questions or if I am way out of line with my asking price please let me know. I guess my other two options are to big block and sell, or part it out. Your thoughts are appreciated. |

Golfer, That's a sweet ride! That would make a perfect second cart for me, but....no monies left from the first one! Wish I did, cause you did exactly what my next plan is - OD green - military style. That stinks about your motor...You might be better off putting a chepo 18hp china engine in it and at least get it running. That way you could re-cop some of your $3000. You must have been btchn pretty good to the wife, to get her to buy you a rzr!

Re: G-14 - Lifted - FOR SALE
I appreciate the compliment. I actually fired up the motor last night to make sure it still ran, and it does. Just has some slack in the piston somewhere so there is a little clatter. I hate to put a cheapo in if someone wants to BB it. Figured I would leave as is and let them decide.
The RZR is almost as awesome as my wife!!! |

Re: G-14 - Lifted - FOR SALE -
Well it appears as though there is no interest in buying the whole cart. I have a local offer of $600 for this cart. Is there any interest if I went through the trouble to part it out? Like I stated earlier, I bought alot of new parts for this cart when I was interested in it. I will see how this starts out, and will decide in a couple days to part out, or take a beating and salvage $600 with the local sell. Thanks again guys.

Door Kicker,
I actually sold the cart this weekend. I am sorry I got impatient and got rid of it. Thanks for the interest. |
