Re: *Wanted* - 6:1 Gears 97 CC DS
I purchased mine from Carts Parts Plus, arrive two days after order. Note if installing in stock (original) Kawasaki rear end, I had to grind 1/8 from one gusset to have the gears clear rotation once installed.

Just on the one gusset. I installed, went to spin to see that they would rotate prior to putting back together, and it didn’t spin. No worries, the little bit that I had to take off I did with dremel and it was good to go. Flushed with oil to ensure I got all the shavings out, added about ten minutes to install.

thanx oconnorb! cheapest i've found so far is via radical golf carts for $249
my cousin-in-law has a golf cart shop in ocala so i'll probably hit him up. just figured it was worth a shot to ask around 1st. did you shave the gusset from the gears or the transaxle housing? would shims have helped? cheers! -sj |

Re: *Wanted* - 6:1 Gears 97 CC DS
Shims wouldn’t have worked for it is a tight fit when putting the two halves back together (part # 19, is set into two bearings on each half of the housing). Just a little off the housing and it will work great, I should have taken pictures for a couple of others had asked also. When installing the small gear (# 19) in the housing, spin the gear and the gear tooth “might” catch the gusset, mine did, but all housings might not have a deep gusset.
Did you already purchase the housing gasket? I went and ordered all items for I hadn’t opened up this type of transaxle before. All that was required was the paper gasket. The gasket is item # 13 on the parts list. It was an easy change, I am impressed with the parts within the case, I didn’t imagine they would be “heavy” parts, but light items, I am sure I won’t be breaking any items in this assembly. cool, thanx!
i haven't ordered the gasket yet. the previous owner had the transaxle apart when the batteries wouldn't charge and sealed it back up with silicone, which is now starting to fail. i'll definitely order one up! -sj |
