90 Club Car (Clone Engine)
1990 Club Car with a 16hp Duromax engine. Street legal golf cart, not lifted. The engine has 5 hours on it when the rod cap was loose from the factory messing up the rod and crank. I got all new internal parts and put it back together correctly. It is not back in the cart yet, but will be in the next couple of days. Would like to sell. Asking $1800.00 OBO.

Re: 90 Club Car (Clone Engine)
How hard was the swap? I was under the impression these carts had to be lifted to install a clone motor. I was looking at doing this to mine.
Bump for you if you're still trying to sell it :) |

Sprinbok,
It wasn't too bad. The hardest part is rigging the throttle. since it runs through the control box. I didn't get any pics, but there are some on this site. As far as lifting it, you don't have to. I removed the gas tank and there is plenty of room for the engine without lifting it. |

Re: 90 Club Car (Clone Engine)
Were you able to use the stock gas tank with it?

Re: 90 Club Car (Clone Engine)
Yes stock gas tank with a low pressure electric fuel pump and then a tee in the line to the carb running the fuel back to the tank. That way when the carb is full of fuel the gas returns to the tank. If no tee the carb can't handle the fuel pressure. It only needs about 1/2 lb of pressure. Over that and it overflows. Some guys have used a manual fuel pump. I didn't do that.

Re: 90 Club Car (Clone Engine)
Thanks for all the replies, sorry about all the n00b questions. I have an '87 Club Car that I'm trying to decide which direction to go with it. I've had the KF82 motor in and out three times now with a rod/crank issue and it's driving me nuts.
And KF82 parts seem to be relatively scarce and very expensive. |
