Help with pricing - Lifted 2003 CC DS Gas
I think its time to send the cart on to a good home. We are just not using it much. I'm just not sure on pricing. Can you guys give me a hand?
2003 Club Car DS – Gas I am the second owner of this cart. I bought it in 2006 from Scott’s Corner executive golf course in Montgomery, NY. At the time I spent a several hours picking the nicest one out of their fleet. The owner of the course is a really nice guy whose one son is a motorcycle builder/TV celebrity on the Discovery Channel. For those who know the Orange County, NY area, they definitely can’t play golf for 12 months of the year so the carts have much less usage then a southern cart. The cart has also lived an easy second life with us. Basically, an overgrown ride on toy for our family, it’s been used to cruise the neighborhood; pull sleds in the winter, and has even seen some parade duty. It’s a really great cart that has no problems, issues or excuses. This cart has had a number of upgrades that would make it useful as a hunting or utility cart. Of particular note is the mechanical locking differential from a Club Car Carryall 272. Right from the driver’s seat you can pull a lever that engages steel cogs on the differential to fully lock both wheels. This is not a cheap friction device like is sold in the aftermarket. This is a complete Club Car, drum to drum axle housing, differential and transmission. Besides being incredibly useful for traction, this axel housing has much more weight and strength capacity than a stock DS unit. This entire unit was installed using Club Car OEM parts. My next favorite upgrade has to be the Jakes Long Travel lift kit. The suspension is plush and stable. The cart’s stance is wider and the wheel base longer making it more comfortable and safer to drive at speed. The rear stance also matches the front without using wheel spacers due to the wider track of the Carryall axle. Four way braking is achieved through front hydraulic discs from Jakes as well as the Carryall rear mechanical drums. I’ve been able to proportion the brakes to near perfection so that you can quickly stop from full speed without any issues. The parking brake also engages all four wheels. The cart has never been in any accidents under my care, and based on its condition when I bought it I think it never was. It’s been garage kept since I’ve had it. The seats have no rips. The body parts are all original, no cracks – but with some superficial scratches consistent with a cart of this age. Nothing deep – just from tree branches in the yard. The motor is completely stock. It does not leak or burn oil. It starts right up in the warm weather; if it is cold you need to use the stock choke button. The motor never stumbles or hesitates. Whoever buys this cart is getting a great cart that has been very well cared for and has capabilities most carts do not. It is a Big Block conversion away from being a complete monster. Upgrades: Jake’s Long Travel lift kit Jake’s front hydraulic disc brake kit Jakes steering rack Heavy duty rear springs, new bushings Carryall 272 locking transaxle and rear drum brakes CPP machined clutches (both), power spring kit Heavy duty drive belt 12x8 (3+5) Octopus Aluminum Wheels – Black and Machined 23 x 10.5 x 12” XTrail Moto Tires Halogen Headlights LED tail & brake lights 110V power inverter (we ran Christmas lights) 12V outlet Tiny Tach Deluxe Safety 2 in 1 rear flip seat Retractable seat belts front and rear 2” heavy duty receiver trailer hitch and light hookup ABS Fender Flares Sporting Clay Basket ‘Winged’ folding windshield Battery replaced 5/2011 – always on trickle charger Motor – stock 294cc DS motor – treated to Mobile 1/Wix filter changes since I’ve had it. What else is included? Shop manuals for the cart, motor and locking transaxle. A few extra oil filters. In fact it will have a fresh oil change and filter for the new owner. Bag racks/basket (in case you ever want to go back to using it for golf!) Extra set of rear axles and housings (I doubt you will ever need them!) Going in any parades? I’ll give you the flag mount I made for the front receiver hitch. Photos: http://s1117.photobucket.com/user/mj...lub%20Car%20DS Videos: Motor running: Sledding: |

$3000 - $3500 is my guess. You could advertise it for $4000 obo. You definitely couldn't build it for $3000.

That would literally be the buy of the year. It is hard to find a stock gas DS in this condition at 3k. Plenty of beaters at that price and less. It's on craigslist and ebay now. Of course it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. I guess I would part it out before taking that big of a bath.

I wish the rear axle was closer.
