a stretched and widened club car with a 350 stroked out to 383 small block chevy in it with a 6 speed corvette tranny lakepipes out the side i would have to put a regular width car axles though or else it wouldnt stay on four wheels for long(basically a car with a golf cart body)

I think a stock 350 would suffice.

I think a Geo 3-banger would suffice for a cart.
