It's time 73 gas H-D for sale
yup. I have not been here in probably at least a year, have not looked at my Harley cart in probably 4 months. it was a "someday" project something I am just buried in. I have too many projects. so time to go.
This ad may get long please bear with me. Someone is gonna get a great deal. the cart; '73 3 wheel gas H-D, steering wheel model. Its body isn't anything to look at, repairs attempted by past owner a guy that knew zero about fiberglass. The good part is that most will peel right off like a band aid so it can be done right. I got it from a buddy that was disgusted it would not go in reverse, he did alot of unnecessary work on it trying to get it to work. I did find the problem. 2 field coils in the starter/gen were shot. I had it professionally rebuilt at a local starter shop, as I remember that cost me about $110 but that was 3 years ago so I could be off on that a bit. . I have never even hooked this fresh s/g up since then. The carb is off but intact.never disassembled by me. and I have at least 1 maybe 2 kits to go with. I also have at least a couple sets of brand new points and condenser (the good stuff not the cheapo Ebay stuff) and 1, maybe 2 new air filters for it. Also I have a whole set of the steel reinforcements that were bolted beneath the body for strength. the original body doesn't have them all, I believe they didn't start adding all of them til later, plus the set of metal that is on the replacement body I have! Not perfect. but much better than what's on it. MUCH less repair needed to that one. Replacement body is '75 or newer (IIRC it was like a 1980 body) so it has the gas filler door, original body does not. I also have a couple sets of fenders in good shape and at least 2 nose cones that are in at least decent or better shape. Also I have 2 steel gas tanks for this cart. One, I coated with one of those gas tank renu products; I do not remember which (may have been POR 15) I know I didn't get the product called "KREEM". I believe I also still have an extra front gearbox, I cannot remember if its the tiller or the steering wheel style. I need to part with all of this, not interested in selling stuff piece meal. I know I could get more that way but with my new job and the added time on the road to and from I come home BEAT. I have had this cart for roughly 3 years and do not realistically see myself getting to it for at least a couple more. Many of the extra parts I have are here at the house; the cart, both bodies and more (I don't remember what all) are in a friend's barn 30 miles away. I may be able to get out there and snap a few pix but being its 30 miles from here in a direction that I rarely go any more, it may take a while to do that. When it was parked the motor was free and I had all that was needed to have the makings of a dang nice cart. What has walked off or been put in a corner where I can't remember? Who knows. but you're gonna get everything I can put my grubby not-so-little hands on, that has to do with a H-D golf cart. the only piece I can honestly say "I'm not sure I have anymore" is the forward reverse switch as I was gonna do that a different way. I was looking at finding a Cole hersee solenoid and utilizing a simple toggle to switch direction or something like that... At one time I had 2 of these carts, this one had a brand new $185 F-R in it from that cart part place in Washington State, but I needed it for the other Harley cart that I used to have/ so that got "pirated" Price? I have seen some crazy stuff on Fleabay. for non running carts without any extras. I also know a guy that is ~3 miles down the road with a pair of them one with a blown engine and the other frozen, for $600/pair. I know that I have more $$ tied up in this but you gotta start somewhere. I'm thinking $350 for EVERYTHING. I am located between I 55 and I 57 on IL route 17 near Kankakee IL. the cart is about 5 miles off of rt 17. I live ~6 miles west of I 57, cart is ~8 mines east of I 55, closer to Dwight. What I hope can happen is that I bring all I have here with me, meet the interested buyer at the truck stop at I 55 and IL rt 17 and have them follow me to cart location. Its in the middle of nowhere basically. Other arrangements *may* be possible but I'd need extra for gas money and "munchies" for the ride, if you get what I mean. I have too much stuff, scattered in too many places. PM me here if interested! If I get a chance to get out there for pix, I would rather E mail them as I am a computer-challenged as far as posting them here. Sorry! |

Re: It's time 73 gas H-D for sale
saying I am IRATE right now is an understatement... traffic court, having to miss work on account of that this afternoon, without getting into particulars too much, still "not" understanding why I had to be issued a ticket in the situation in the 1st place,
means I gotta BUMP this ad! |
