WTB '88 EZGO muffler
Just like the title says. I'm looking for a used one in good shape (no rattles or rusted out units please...small repairable holes ok). My Workhorse has a non '88 muffler that rattles and most likely has a broken baffle inside. If anybody has something or knows of something I could use as a replacement PLEASE let me know.

IIRC THERE LAWN TRACTOR MUFFLERS..A BUDDY GOT ONE AND WORKED PERFECT FOR HIS 2 STROKE |

Re: WTB '88 EZGO muffler
I've checked ebay but the only "1988 only" I can find is nearly $300. I just know the 88 is the odd duck and everything has to be made for that exact year. That's why I was asking if anybody knew of any tricks or replacements that'll work

Re: WTB '88 EZGO muffler
You are correct that 1988 was an odd year. It was the last full year of the 2pg engine. A larger carburetor (BV24) and another change to the muffler & exhaust system were implemented trying to get more power for the car. The starter bracket also went through several changes as the increased power caused the original bracket to break apart. That said it was largely inconsequential and in 1989 the 3PG engine was once again fitted with the smaller BV18 carburetor. Now the crucial part of the exhaust system for a two stroke is the expansion chamber which is right on the cylinder port. In an ideal world where money is no object you would be best to fit the correct muffler but I think in the case of the 2PG engine (albeit the high output version) I would be tempted to just find a 2 stroke muffler that physically fits the exhaust pipe and is about the right size.

Re: WTB '88 EZGO muffler
Thx Easy but considering the H.O. 2pg.........wont be in my buggy more than another year or so I just cant justify that kind of money. Now if you wanna come on down of that price we can talk.
Dave the can thats on it now I'm pretty sure is a pre-'88. It looks like all of the pictures of those. I considered just picking up one of the them for cheap on fleabay just for chits and grins and seeing what does. Anything has to be better than the busted one on it now. Travis |
